- 2 hoagie rolls
- 1 cup cheese (Cheez Whiz, Provolone, or American)
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon oil
- Optional: bell peppers, mushrooms, or marinara sauce
Instructions
- Heat the oil in a skillet or flat-top griddle.
- Add the onions and any extras, cooking until soft and caramelized. Set aside.
- Increase heat and add the sliced meat to the grill, cooking until browned.
- Mix in the previously cooked onions and extras.
- Layer your cheese on top of the meat mixture, allowing it to melt.
- While the cheese melts, prepare the hoagie rolls by slicing them open.
- Fill the rolls with the meat and cheese mixture, adding any additional sauces as desired.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
Notes
Partially freeze the meat for easier slicing. Toasting the hoagie rolls adds extra texture.
