Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 ½ cups sugar
- ¾ cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup milk
- 3 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup fresh fruit (for variation, like blueberries or raspberries)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease and flour a Bundt pan thoroughly.
- In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- Mix in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture alternately with milk, starting and ending with flour.
- If desired, gently fold in fresh fruit.
- Pour the batter into the prepared Bundt pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 40-50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then invert onto a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
Be sure to grease the pan well to prevent sticking. Experiment with glazes for added flavor and aesthetics.
